TapUK 2025: A Weekend of Tap Dance, Workshops & Celebration in Torquay

What a weekend we had in sunny Torquay! TapUK 2025 was packed with dancing, laughter, and unforgettable moments and we’re so grateful to everyone who made it such a special celebration. Whether it was your very first festival or your twenty-ninth, we hope you left feeling inspired, uplifted and part of the Tappers family.

Friday Night: Bollywood Fancy Dress Party Kicks Off TapUK 2025

We kicked things off in true Tappers style with a Bollywood-themed Fancy Dress Party and you all looked amazing! From sequins to saris, the room was a rainbow of colour and creativity.

A huge thank you to everyone who took part, and congratulations to our fabulous fancy dress winners. A special mention goes to Loretta, who wowed us all with her incredible Taj Mahal outfit – a true showstopper!

With prizes won, music filling the air, and plenty of dancing, the 29th TapUK Festival started with a bang.

TapUK Workshops: Two Days of Tap Dance, Fun & Learning

The weekend was buzzing with energy as dancers of all levels filled the workshops. From classic tap drills to bold choreography and lots of non-tap extras, there was something for everyone.

We dived into all styles of tap dance, from classics like the Shim Sham and Condo’s Rudiments to themed classes like Torquay (Texas!) Hold ’Em. Jo got us grooving with her Bollywood Disco Fusion, Angus had us laughing and spinning in salsa and boogaloo, and Simon and Anna took us back in time with their vintage swing classes.

Saturday Night Showcase: Celebrating Tappers’ Talent

Saturday evening’s TapUK Showcase was a true celebration of creativity and community. From group numbers to solo performances and stunning routines by our instructors, every act brought something different to the stage.

The atmosphere was relaxed and joyful, with lots of support and plenty of applause. We also had some lovely raffle prizes handed out – thank you to everyone who took part and helped make the night extra special.

Sunday Night: Wrapping Up with Rock 'n' Roll

To wrap up, we kept things fun and relaxed on Sunday night. With rock ’n’ roll tunes and a joyful Charleston, it was the perfect finale. Simon and Anna treated us to an informal performance, and of course, we couldn’t resist doing the Big Apple one last time.

TapUK 2026 – Save the Date for Our 30th Festival!

Next year is a big one… it’s the 30th TapUK Festival and we’ll be back at the TLH Leisure Resort, Torquay from the 15th to the 17th of May 2026 for a weekend full of dancing and celebration.

We’ve already got some fantastic instructors confirmed with more to be announced soon. As always there’ll be a full programme of workshops for all levels, as well as our much-loved evening events.
