Tappers Presents: For the Love of Tap - A dance workshop day with Amy Ireland

On Saturday 14th February we got together at The Howard Venue in Swanley for For the Love of Tap - a dance workshop day with the brilliant Amy Ireland.

The sun was shining, the vibe was lovely and it was one of those days where everything just felt fun from the start.

💃 Tap 1 – 9:30am

The music in the first class definitely made us think we might be easing gently into the day… but those of us who made the 9:30 start quickly realised that wasn’t the case!

Amy taught a gorgeous, jazzy routine to Suzanne by Mark Ronson and RAYE. We learnt a clown step, threw in a super-fast six-beat paddle combo, and got properly warmed up.

💕 Tap 2 – 11:00am

The second class brought all the Valentine’s Day energy with a swing-style routine to L-O-V-E. It was feel-good, musical and had everyone smiling!

🌸 Jazz – 1:00pm

We finished the day with a cutesy jazz routine to Isn’t She Lovely by Stevie Wonder. We went from coy little crush moments, to unexpected ballerinas, to dramatic headaches - it was full of personality and such a fun way to end the day.

By the end, everyone’s legs were definitely feeling it… but in the best possible way!

Amy is an amazing instructor, bringing energy, encouragement and plenty of fun to every class. She really brought the Valentine’s theme to life and created a space where everyone could just enjoy dancing.
